2022 Meridian Night Parade

Hello Everyone,

The Meridian parade is officially one week away! (Friday Dec 2nd). We are still in need of more working dogs so please come out and join us.

The Meridian Parade will start moving at 6:40pm and we must be inplace no later than 6:00. I will be there at about 4:30 to get our spot. When looking for us, we are number 29 and will be in front of the Rocky Mountain band. It's my understanding that we will be staging in the speedway.

I have been told that the Story Park and Meridian Speedway parking lots are reserved for participants, so let people know you are IN the parade with the Shafer Butte Mountain Dog Society, number 29.

The parade route, Speedway to Speedway, is about 1.6 miles. The actual parade with spectators is closer to one mile. Please make sure dogs and people have lights on, costumes are also an added plus. Candy can be handed out but not thrown. I think last year we each handed out between 500 and 1000 pieces of candy at the Caldwell parade.

Families are welcome to walk with us. If you have anyone who would like to help carry the banner, please let me know. Pulling a wagon for kids or dogs is fine... just put some lights and decorations on it.

We are also participating the the Caldwell night Parade on December 3rd.

Thanks!

Christopher

2022 Caldwell Night Parade

Hello Everyone,

Below is the information for the Caldwell Night Parade! Yay! This is a big parade so we can still use more dogs!

The parade starts at 6:00 and all participants need to be in place by 5:30. I would actually plan on being at the start by 5:00 (or earlier) just in case it takes some time to park, etc. I will be there about 3:30 to get signed in.

Remember, costumes, lots of lights, and candy to hand out! This is a long parade but it's very fun! There are over 80 entries in this parade and we will be in the back next to Santa. Candy can be handed out but not thrown. I think last year we each handed out between 500 and 1000 pieces of candy at the Caldwell parade.

Last year, once we walked the 1.5 mile parade route we had to walk back to the start and that was rough on the people and dogs.. This year we will have a couple of cars parked at the end and we will be shuttling people, dogs, and carts back to the start. Right now I am proposing we meet at the corner of 5th and Cleveland in the Dollar Tree parking lot. Please see the map below.

It also sounds like parking has been improved this year. The Participant packet now states the participant parking for our number is off of Griffith's Parkway near where we will be staged. The road will probably be closed so either go around the sign, or if someone is there make sure to let them know you are a participant in the parade and this is where the packet tells you to park.

Families are welcome to walk with us. If you have anyone who would like to help carry the banner, please let me know. Pulling a wagon for kids or dogs is fine... just put some lights and decorations on it.

Please let me know if you have any other questions.
